It's been a quiet one, listening to The Spill Canvas... taking me back. I'm currently sitting in front of the computer staring at an unfinished bathroom project - far from finished. I also have a very cluttered basement. I also have a plaster issue to address in the upstairs bedroom. There are also multiple holes in my chimney that need to be patched. All of these things to do, yet I can't peel myself away from taking/editing photos. So, bonus for your eyes, or not - depending on how you feel about my photography. Here are some photos I took of Jessica a while back experimenting with light. I wanted more of a hard light directed onto her. So, after cutting up a dog treat box and wrapping it around my flash I had my hard light source.<br /><br />On a side note - I haven't been happy with the picture quality after uploading to blogspot... does anybody out there know whether or not the photos keep their resolution? I may be looking to switch - hold tight for updates on that. Anyhow, the photos... I'm pretty stoked about the last one after painting it... it'll be blown up and on our wall soon enough. Perhaps the 2nd one as well... I'm digging black and white way more than color lately!<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MYrJPyiMfQk/Tb9tpbD8KvI/AAAAAAAABDs/3AonDO61oug/s1600/jessica_chair-1%2Bblog.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MYrJPyiMfQk/Tb9tpbD8KvI/AAAAAAAABDs/3AonDO61oug/s400/jessica_chair-1%2Bblog.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5602317019878533874" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-a2Gy6g_i1C0/Tb9tu3MbwdI/AAAAAAAABD0/5LflOh7U3oY/s1600/jessica_chair-5%2Bblog.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-a2Gy6g_i1C0/Tb9tu3MbwdI/AAAAAAAABD0/5LflOh7U3oY/s400/jessica_chair-5%2Bblog.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5602317113329697234" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WqYc1MVjMdQ/Tb9t1VUARTI/AAAAAAAABD8/EI8MPHrWePM/s1600/jessica_chair-3%2Bblog.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 277px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WqYc1MVjMdQ/Tb9t1VUARTI/AAAAAAAABD8/EI8MPHrWePM/s400/jessica_chair-3%2Bblog.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5602317224493729074" border="0" /></a>mmMikeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05699054572617167280noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8265963619795758934.post-64009922341420553132011-04-27T19:47:00.000-07:002011-04-28T05:34:35.343-07:00Old ManThis is Grandpa Clark. I had the chance this past weekend to visit with him, it's been too long. I brought my gear along and wanted to get some shots. I always remember my grandpa with a cigarette in hand sitting by his desk in the garage, tinkering on and off with whatever car happened to be in there. I wanted to capture that. One light to work with and an impatient model... Grandpa says to me, "Hey Mikey, do you remember when I used to blow flames past your head?" *Laughs* "Do you want a picture of that??" In my early teens I spent most every afternoon at grandpas garage. He liked to sneak up behind me and blow a butane flame past my head and scare the eff out of me. So I agreed, good idea!<br /><br />I'm happy with how they turned out - I did a bit more experimentation with post processing on these images... too much? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-G8Wbrpp4k8k/Tbledrz5GsI/AAAAAAAABC4/kVUBMs4SeTI/s1600/DSC_0005_edited_blog.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 318px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-G8Wbrpp4k8k/Tbledrz5GsI/AAAAAAAABC4/kVUBMs4SeTI/s400/DSC_0005_edited_blog.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5600611475681516226" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-73BJHNIdi3g/TblelZ9X0MI/AAAAAAAABDA/N637KG5Y7YM/s1600/DSC_0007_edited_blog.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 248px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-73BJHNIdi3g/TblelZ9X0MI/AAAAAAAABDA/N637KG5Y7YM/s400/DSC_0007_edited_blog.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5600611608328392898" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-S83rTIoCSVI/TblesQAnWKI/AAAAAAAABDI/Uhpa2UjDjQ0/s1600/DSC_0012_edited_blog.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-S83rTIoCSVI/TblesQAnWKI/AAAAAAAABDI/Uhpa2UjDjQ0/s400/DSC_0012_edited_blog.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5600611725916723362" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XNGk0zz7b9Y/TblezeKuqxI/AAAAAAAABDQ/bh8albsjZK0/s1600/DSC_0013_edited_blog.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 277px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XNGk0zz7b9Y/TblezeKuqxI/AAAAAAAABDQ/bh8albsjZK0/s400/DSC_0013_edited_blog.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5600611849976326930" border="0" /></a>mmMikeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05699054572617167280noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8265963619795758934.post-61196914508768220642011-04-20T18:13:00.000-07:002011-04-20T18:26:34.916-07:00Time WarpTonight I bring you a photo that I made back in June of 2007. This was about the time I purchased my first DSLR - a Nikon D80. Not the slightest idea how to use the thing... I was one of those people that thought a good camera made you a good photographer :) At any rate, I had a concept in mind. Too many people go through life at a hectic pace, seemingly unable to catch up. People tend to look, but not <span style="font-style: italic;">see</span>; hear and not <span style="font-style: italic;">listen</span>; touch and not <span style="font-style: italic;">feel</span>... This is the photo that came out of it. Essentially a challenge to change the way you perceive things through everyday life - in a "stop to smell the roses" kind of way :) It was fun to make - Jessica couldn't stop smiling/laughing so we had to re-tape a couple of times. All I had was a desk lamp set-up camera left for light. Most of the contrast was added in post and I was very pleased with the results. Anyhow, hope you enjoy!<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_WTXQMqV_0M/Ta-Hd_-eHwI/AAAAAAAABCQ/2BIlOqF56a0/s1600/_DSC003162-2%2Bcopy3.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 268px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_WTXQMqV_0M/Ta-Hd_-eHwI/AAAAAAAABCQ/2BIlOqF56a0/s400/_DSC003162-2%2Bcopy3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5597841811304226562" border="0" /></a>mmMikeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05699054572617167280noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8265963619795758934.post-5859368737123397532011-04-06T20:03:00.000-07:002011-04-20T14:22:17.683-07:00Chaos TheoryGood evening Clark Creative fanatics. Jessica and I have been searching for ways to decorate our home with original art for a long time now. We are always on the lookout for custom and unique pieces. Although this may not be unique (we stole the idea from a movie ;) it certainly is custom. We recently watched a movie titled "Chaos Theory" and we noticed this cool portrait art of the couple hung above their bed. It was 4 different photos of each person making some goofy, serious, whatever face. So Jessica and I jumped on it and took some goofy, serious, whatever photos of ourselves and hung them above our bed. So that's it, just thought I would share! It's easy to make custom art for your home, if you're feeling inspired or have an idea you'd like to live out then let's talk about making it happen!<br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oLt15bjlexc/TZ0rAWdEJqI/AAAAAAAABCI/6ML5aiCjhqU/s1600/DSC_0007%2Bcopy.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 249px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oLt15bjlexc/TZ0rAWdEJqI/AAAAAAAABCI/6ML5aiCjhqU/s400/DSC_0007%2Bcopy.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5592673597291505314" border="0" /></a>mmMikeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05699054572617167280noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8265963619795758934.post-20532054996726762742011-03-30T19:55:00.000-07:002011-03-30T20:35:24.377-07:00SometimesSo yesterday was the lovely Jessica's birthday. We celebrated in grand fashion by attending a concert in Chicago. We went to see <a href="http://www.cityandcolour.ca/home/">City & Colour</a>, again. You see, back in my headbanging days I fell deeply in love with a band called <a href="http://www.theonlybandever.com/">Alexisonfire</a>. They scream a lot. However, there were these ridiculously lovely contrasting vocals to all of the screaming - that's where Dallas Green comes in, the man behind those vocals. This is his solo project. I've seen Alexisonfire three times and met Dallas at two of the shows. As you can see by photo number one below, he was extremely excited to be meeting me as well (ignore my sleazy look by the way, I just got out of a mosh pit people). Story goes... tiny venue in Chicago and my friends and I hang back to meet the band. Dallas is on stage packing up as we stand there hoping to get a picture. I ask, "Hey Dallas, can we get a picture?" Dallas says, "Sure, no problem."... a couple minutes go by and he continues packing. So I say, "Hey Dallas - picture?" and get a very disdained response of, "Yeah, give me a minute... *bleep*". Needless to say I was a bit excited to have the chance of meeting him but only ended up annoying him. Cool. Second time, Jessica and I go see Alexisonfire at The Rave. Same scenario, we hang back to meet the band. Dallas comes walking by and I reach out my hand to shake his and say hi. He stops to chat. Jessica proceeds to embarrass me by saying, "He's like your biggest fan." I respond, "Well no, I'm not your biggest fan." Face red, awkward silence... Dallas, "Well, it was nice meeting you." Looking back, it went better than the first time, right?<br /><br />Anyhow, this has been our 4th time seeing City & Colour and he never disappoints. Opening acts included <a href="http://www.myspace.com/danielromanomusic">Daniel Romano</a> (in the City & Colour band) and <a href="http://gorddownie.com/">Gord Downie</a> from The Tragically Hip. I was told that there is a strict photography policy at the venue, no DSLR's, no detachable lenses, point and shoot cameras only. Ok, bummer. We get in and how many flippin people had DSLR's??? They were everywhere, strictly enforced... We got second row and I had to shoot at ISO 800 with a Canon point & miss (thanks <a href="http://www.sethalwin.com/">seppy!</a>) Who knows how many shots I missed. Below are what I deemed worth sharing. Enjoy! AND go download all of these bands - you will not be disappointed.<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ewfpt64Xx-U/TZP1VPVdPII/AAAAAAAABBg/HG3zcCWkOfE/s1600/alexisonfire_012.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 286px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ewfpt64Xx-U/TZP1VPVdPII/AAAAAAAABBg/HG3zcCWkOfE/s400/alexisonfire_012.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5590081307739503746" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PBx0Qtyg7gI/TZP1qg0OLNI/AAAAAAAABBo/AaXI6r0z0LU/s1600/IMG_0901.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 286px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PBx0Qtyg7gI/TZP1qg0OLNI/AAAAAAAABBo/AaXI6r0z0LU/s400/IMG_0901.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5590081673209195730" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Qp9ZIVJyErA/TZP1zpKa9sI/AAAAAAAABBw/ME-t_BorHMQ/s1600/IMG_0919.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 286px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Qp9ZIVJyErA/TZP1zpKa9sI/AAAAAAAABBw/ME-t_BorHMQ/s400/IMG_0919.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5590081830068614850" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UEK09lAMdpE/TZP19wPaEJI/AAAAAAAABB4/xpe6bPOjjMQ/s1600/IMG_0929.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 286px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UEK09lAMdpE/TZP19wPaEJI/AAAAAAAABB4/xpe6bPOjjMQ/s400/IMG_0929.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5590082003767267474" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-N_G8SkmKhTs/TZP2IpnR7TI/AAAAAAAABCA/3n_ZI5Tjp4Q/s1600/IMG_0932.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 286px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-N_G8SkmKhTs/TZP2IpnR7TI/AAAAAAAABCA/3n_ZI5Tjp4Q/s400/IMG_0932.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5590082190966910258" border="0" /></a>mmMikeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05699054572617167280noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8265963619795758934.post-13995393759053586652011-03-14T19:56:00.000-07:002011-04-03T12:14:01.449-07:00...14 hours laterSo this year hasn't exactly gone the way I would have liked in terms of photography so far. I began by attempting to keep up with <a href="http://project52.org/">Project 52</a> and shooting an assignment per week but that just proved to be too much with all I have going on in life right now. I had fooled around with my lighting before but had just been out of inspiration on what to shoot. I've been itching to shoot on white seamless for quite some time, but just don't have the room for it. So, there my camera sat...<br /><br />In comes <a href="http://davidejackson.com/">David E. Jackson</a> with his Breaking The Rules workshop. This workshop essentially taught me that I need to shoot, and shoot some more... and then, shoot more. Not only shoot, but THINK about what I'm shooting and to innovate and shoot in unexpected places. It was great to meet such kind souls during this workshop. Below are some shots I took throughout the day. They certainly aren't perfect... I underexposed, I overexposed, I cut off elbows, I cut off fingers, but I left inspired and rejuvenated. Also, <a href="http://www.zarias.com/">Zack Arias</a> is right about the 50mm 1.8 - it really does look like butt on the white seamless. It left me with a blue/purple haze on all photos forcing me into a high contrast black and white. Yet another lesson learned!<br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-q3Kcb9Iqmac/TYAOpPcu06I/AAAAAAAABA0/LsTtzQBHyGU/s1600/DSC_0040%2Bblog.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 257px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-q3Kcb9Iqmac/TYAOpPcu06I/AAAAAAAABA0/LsTtzQBHyGU/s400/DSC_0040%2Bblog.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5584479639623881634" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rbspWWU5Dpo/TYAOznUgERI/AAAAAAAABA8/peyOqm8GY2A/s1600/DSC_0047%2Bblog.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rbspWWU5Dpo/TYAOznUgERI/AAAAAAAABA8/peyOqm8GY2A/s400/DSC_0047%2Bblog.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5584479817830502674" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-skpoctk8E4g/TYAO7KzccII/AAAAAAAABBE/jXSIvKkr8BQ/s1600/DSC_0061%2Bblog.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-skpoctk8E4g/TYAO7KzccII/AAAAAAAABBE/jXSIvKkr8BQ/s400/DSC_0061%2Bblog.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5584479947614613634" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MNPmnGg5MEI/TYAPDXhaiuI/AAAAAAAABBM/z_HAEr5nbu0/s1600/DSC_0066%2Bblog.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 265px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MNPmnGg5MEI/TYAPDXhaiuI/AAAAAAAABBM/z_HAEr5nbu0/s400/DSC_0066%2Bblog.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5584480088467606242" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oFd6roij-xc/TYAPKLJ9wRI/AAAAAAAABBU/rDs_SYY4Tx8/s1600/DSC_0067%2Bblog.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 242px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oFd6roij-xc/TYAPKLJ9wRI/AAAAAAAABBU/rDs_SYY4Tx8/s400/DSC_0067%2Bblog.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5584480205407109394" border="0" /></a>mmMikeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05699054572617167280noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8265963619795758934.post-48775029334176874112011-03-01T13:41:00.000-08:002011-03-01T13:59:47.908-08:00save the date<span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-family:verdana;">Mike and I were lucky enough to have our friend Seth (www.sethalwin.com) spend an entire day with us taking our engagement photos this past summer. I had an idea for one in which Mike and I would walk towards each other and kiss when we met. Seth was able to capture my idea more beautifully than I ever imagined and thus giving us the perfect image to use for our Save the Dates! I wanted to emphasize the moment we met and kissed, so by making the background black and white and ourselves in color, we were able to really stand out. Since my design philosophy is clean and simple, that's exactly how I wanted the end result of these "save the dates" to turn out. I'm looking forward to designing as many things as I can for our upcoming wedding from invitations, table names, place cards and the programs. Let's hope everybody is living up to their resolutions ;) If not, now is a good time to reflect and reinforce those changes you want to make for the new year. I know that personally I've needed to re-visit some goals of mine as this past month has not included ANY photography for me. That is, until I discovered Don Giannatti and his <a href="http://www.project52.org/">Project 52 website</a>. This essentially boils down to 52 photography assignments in 52 weeks. I'm a little behind already but plan to catch up shortly. First assignment, create a "vision" statement and shoot something around your house that captures what you're trying to say. So, without further ado...<br /><br />"I enjoy the challenge of creating meaningful images using a combination of unusual angles, lighting and lens options."<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TUIyWzDD-uI/AAAAAAAABAc/wf44D6B_SoM/s1600/luke-1%2Bsmall%2Bcopy.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 282px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TUIyWzDD-uI/AAAAAAAABAc/wf44D6B_SoM/s400/luke-1%2Bsmall%2Bcopy.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5567067456624917218" border="0" /></a>mmMikeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05699054572617167280noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8265963619795758934.post-42412687600949352922010-12-23T15:25:00.000-08:002010-12-23T15:32:06.538-08:00Wonder What's NextGreetings to all blog readers. Hello again blogosphere. Last week around this same time I was <strikethrough>cramming</strikethrough> err, studying for an exam. Not so this week... as my brain takes a break from my studies it allows more time for pictures. This week I bring to you some pictures that were made about 3 weeks back on a family photo shoot with Jessica's sister, brother in-law and lovely little niece who you have seen on this blog in the very recent past. We were on the hunt for fall colors and were a bit disappointed that the wind storm had blown them all away one week prior. However, we did have some wonderful blue skies. Have a look below and let me know what you think in the comments! I'm always looking for feedback, positive AND negative.<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TOHl7SLh_yI/AAAAAAAAA-s/B648DvO2NWc/s1600/skarbans-3.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 201px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TOHl7SLh_yI/AAAAAAAAA-s/B648DvO2NWc/s400/skarbans-3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5539961823297666850" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TOHmEjV33iI/AAAAAAAAA-0/PSbN2DdRbWc/s1600/skarbans-4.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 271px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TOHmEjV33iI/AAAAAAAAA-0/PSbN2DdRbWc/s400/skarbans-4.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5539961982523268642" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TOHmN5pdANI/AAAAAAAAA-8/WFQDoO0XDjw/s1600/skarbans-5.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 271px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TOHmN5pdANI/AAAAAAAAA-8/WFQDoO0XDjw/s400/skarbans-5.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5539962143129796818" border="0" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TOHmeFGZsJI/AAAAAAAAA_E/udXFNhw_Kq4/s1600/skarbans-12.jpg"><br /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TOHmt4lfwKI/AAAAAAAAA_M/l-QD7pAAy00/s1600/skarbans-13.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TOHmt4lfwKI/AAAAAAAAA_M/l-QD7pAAy00/s400/skarbans-13.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5539962692600578210" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TOHm2aw1hWI/AAAAAAAAA_U/805Y_TA_QVU/s1600/skarbans-35.jpg"><br /></a>mmMikeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05699054572617167280noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8265963619795758934.post-18136409850773149002010-11-08T17:47:00.001-08:002010-11-08T17:56:17.169-08:00Something OldHello friends. Mikey here... I have an exam tomorrow... Supply Chain Management. We are learning about Aggregate Planning and Strategic Fit and how Cycle Inventory plays a major role. It's really putting me in the mood for bed. Good thing I don't have cable (Monday Night Football) to distract me from my studies, right? Instead, I have the interwebs =) So, here are 3 photos from the archives. First up is a 1947 Buick that was for sale on the side of the road. I LOVE old cars so I climbed inside to snap a photo... needless to say, it needed restoring and I probably should have been wearing a mask upon entry. Second is a license plate that caught my eye at the <a href="http://www.hunnertcarpileup.com/">Hunnert Car Pileup</a> this past summer. Lastly we have a go slow ride from the Walworth Co. Fair. Hope all is well with everybody reading!<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TNipcaZTwEI/AAAAAAAAA-U/rWCq9co2yDI/s1600/1947%2BBuick%2BInterior%2Bcopy.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 273px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TNipcaZTwEI/AAAAAAAAA-U/rWCq9co2yDI/s400/1947%2BBuick%2BInterior%2Bcopy.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5537362047438929986" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TNiprCi5F6I/AAAAAAAAA-c/Yk1hKm4bApE/s1600/DSC_0035_copy.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 268px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TNiprCi5F6I/AAAAAAAAA-c/Yk1hKm4bApE/s400/DSC_0035_copy.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5537362298734712738" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TNip3oX62pI/AAAAAAAAA-k/fkgfmZLAC08/s1600/taylor_bw-17.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TNip3oX62pI/AAAAAAAAA-k/fkgfmZLAC08/s400/taylor_bw-17.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5537362515047668370" border="0" /></a>mmMikeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05699054572617167280noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8265963619795758934.post-82276313837322740622010-10-25T08:58:00.000-07:002010-10-26T20:15:21.042-07:00Cupmate<span style="color: rgb(102, 102, 102);"><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-family:verdana;">My last year at UWM in the graphic design department, we were given an assignment to invent and execute an innovative design/invention. I decided to create a reusable cup sleeve that served multiple functions. I ended up sewing a total of 10 of them to sell at our graphic design store at the end of the semester. I ended up selling 7 (my teacher even bought one!). My teacher insisted that I get a patent on these and start marketing them to local coffee shops. Well, I got as far as making a diagram to submit to the United States Patent and Trademark office, but have yet to actually submit it. Fast forward to a couple months ago when I was showing my portfolio to one of my coworkers. She loved the Cupmate design I created and asked if I could make her one for herself. She uses it everyday at work and got another one of our coworkers interested in my design! She thought this would be the perfect gift to give her bridesmaids at her wedding this October. So, I got to work and whipped out 4 Cupmates within about two weeks. I now have another request to make one for another friend. Looks like I'm going into business with these things!<br /><br /></span></span></span><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqAE-4v1NbydMqQFZzQOzpIv2bamukGEdJMkjjLoywacOUhbJx7oXLdWM-tRosQte3RCi0El9fOXm_Su4aAIokXfGMonVlVeCvURIroL4K4ilvDukFJOZzgGPtqvQUQp7iDwKJzbWXxKc/s1600/cupmate.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 289px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqAE-4v1NbydMqQFZzQOzpIv2bamukGEdJMkjjLoywacOUhbJx7oXLdWM-tRosQte3RCi0El9fOXm_Su4aAIokXfGMonVlVeCvURIroL4K4ilvDukFJOZzgGPtqvQUQp7iDwKJzbWXxKc/s400/cupmate.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5532559063726569282" border="0" /></a><span style="color: rgb(102, 102, 102);"><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-family:verdana;">The diagram I created for patent submission. Boy, we really need to get on Jessica to get some design posts going... I feel like I'm taking the joint over! Anyhow, I hope all is well with everyone reading - enjoy these latest photos. About a month or so back we got to babysit Jessica's lovely niece. Previous "photo shoots" with this little doll haven't gone so well. She spends about .0039243 seconds doing an activity, then it's on to the next. If that's not enough, she must dictate every single moment of our day. So, if it's not her idea to take photos, then we're not taking photos. However, us adults are a crafty bunch and know about a little something called "reverse psychology". Giving her complete control of the situation and handing her the camera she starts making pictures all over the yard... including this beaut...<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0NfD7WZHI/AAAAAAAAA80/z9LBLiPepco/s1600/taylor_bw-20.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0NfD7WZHI/AAAAAAAAA80/z9LBLiPepco/s400/taylor_bw-20.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529590744762180722" border="0" /></a><br />Yep, taken by a three year old. Not bad huh? Now, if her subject was just a little more lively. But, I know you aren't here to look at photos of my ugly mug. Here are the real glamor shots. Isn't she a cutie?!? I'm loving the curls :)<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0OatYo19I/AAAAAAAAA88/wVCGC2aSGqY/s1600/taylor_bw-10.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0OatYo19I/AAAAAAAAA88/wVCGC2aSGqY/s400/taylor_bw-10.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529591769503160274" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0Okohue_I/AAAAAAAAA9E/kQZH2mrRZxg/s1600/taylor_bw-11.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0Okohue_I/AAAAAAAAA9E/kQZH2mrRZxg/s400/taylor_bw-11.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529591939997793266" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0OwvYBHOI/AAAAAAAAA9M/P9-9px-3oYg/s1600/taylor_bw-12.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 286px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0OwvYBHOI/AAAAAAAAA9M/P9-9px-3oYg/s400/taylor_bw-12.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529592147994549474" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0O6Hn791I/AAAAAAAAA9U/0tm7NOWqtg8/s1600/taylor_bw-13.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 301px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0O6Hn791I/AAAAAAAAA9U/0tm7NOWqtg8/s400/taylor_bw-13.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529592309122594642" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0PK65hq2I/AAAAAAAAA9c/nj3vzV44UWQ/s1600/taylor_bw-15.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0PK65hq2I/AAAAAAAAA9c/nj3vzV44UWQ/s400/taylor_bw-15.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529592597764483938" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0PVjivkPI/AAAAAAAAA9k/hWjVpMAtuMQ/s1600/taylor_bw-7.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0PVjivkPI/AAAAAAAAA9k/hWjVpMAtuMQ/s400/taylor_bw-7.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529592780473471218" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0PhTCJ8nI/AAAAAAAAA9s/Rd52TANlLnk/s1600/taylor_bw-16.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 338px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0PhTCJ8nI/AAAAAAAAA9s/Rd52TANlLnk/s400/taylor_bw-16.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529592982200250994" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0PpTVobdI/AAAAAAAAA90/2xgX4GJtUK0/s1600/taylor_bw-14.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 270px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TL0PpTVobdI/AAAAAAAAA90/2xgX4GJtUK0/s400/taylor_bw-14.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529593119720893906" border="0" /></a>mmMikeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05699054572617167280noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8265963619795758934.post-68299834731573308632010-10-08T09:26:00.000-07:002010-10-08T10:14:53.522-07:00Zephyr Design & KotingHello friends! Today I bring you a blog post from my patio. I am off work for the day and it is simply gorgeous out here. I want to tell you about a great business in Bay View that can handle any of your coating & design needs. They delivered some freshly coated bicycle parts along with a frame for some glamor shots. Let me tell you, these looked NICE! The frame was a metallic blue and the parts a dark metallic gray color - high quality and coated inside and out. Head on over to their site to find out more - <a href="http://www.zephyrdk.com/">zephyrdk.com</a> - and get a hold of Steph or Andy for your bicycle, motorcycle, what have you coating needs!<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TK9QDQ0nUNI/AAAAAAAAA8c/dQ4y3QiHaJ0/s1600/zephyr_web-3.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 255px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TK9QDQ0nUNI/AAAAAAAAA8c/dQ4y3QiHaJ0/s400/zephyr_web-3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5525723284792365266" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TK9QKFaoPxI/AAAAAAAAA8k/ZL11Ai-crDU/s1600/zephyr_web-4.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 256px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TK9QKFaoPxI/AAAAAAAAA8k/ZL11Ai-crDU/s400/zephyr_web-4.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5525723401989668626" border="0" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TK9NeZPn0UI/AAAAAAAAA7s/a2IqpygIoIg/s1600/zephyr_web-4.jpg"><br /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TK9OKAAA9RI/AAAAAAAAA78/_pgobcFWqPY/s1600/zephyr_web-1.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TK9OKAAA9RI/AAAAAAAAA78/_pgobcFWqPY/s400/zephyr_web-1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5525721201512609042" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TK9OSyA2GXI/AAAAAAAAA8E/lCSC1bURBBA/s1600/zephyr_web-6.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 238px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TK9OSyA2GXI/AAAAAAAAA8E/lCSC1bURBBA/s400/zephyr_web-6.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5525721352376818034" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TK9Odc_rHRI/AAAAAAAAA8M/9dYp08h3Fwg/s1600/zephyr_web-5.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 160px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TK9Odc_rHRI/AAAAAAAAA8M/9dYp08h3Fwg/s400/zephyr_web-5.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5525721535713320210" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TK9OpnvP3yI/AAAAAAAAA8U/N3K_bftiuzY/s1600/zephyr_web-2.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 258px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TK9OpnvP3yI/AAAAAAAAA8U/N3K_bftiuzY/s400/zephyr_web-2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5525721744755646242" border="0" /></a>mmMikeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05699054572617167280noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8265963619795758934.post-56310625288311040022010-09-20T20:13:00.001-07:002010-09-20T20:30:28.655-07:00Chris & Amanda WeddingSo my photographic adventure with these two lovebirds continues as I was recently a second shooter at their wedding. As I recently heard one bride say, "A person should have two weddings (to the same person). Rationale, the first goes by so fast, the second is to ingrain it all in the brain and remember all of the amazing details." That statement called out to me as I was about to photograph such a monumental day as a wedding. My job as the photographer is to slow the day down and freeze those special moments to be cherished forever. Chris, Amanda and their families are so great to work with - what a great day! A <span style="font-weight: bold;">small</span> sampling...<br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TJgllLaGZ-I/AAAAAAAAA5M/ug_rhuaEtv0/s1600/c%26a_web-1.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 352px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TJgllLaGZ-I/AAAAAAAAA5M/ug_rhuaEtv0/s400/c%26a_web-1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519202663990192098" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TJglwJ1ESwI/AAAAAAAAA5U/rAQzuANAvPM/s1600/c%26a_web-2.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TJglwJ1ESwI/AAAAAAAAA5U/rAQzuANAvPM/s400/c%26a_web-2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519202852544989954" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TJgl3NVDaVI/AAAAAAAAA5c/8OV5SqlFMPI/s1600/c%26a_web-3.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 238px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TJgl3NVDaVI/AAAAAAAAA5c/8OV5SqlFMPI/s400/c%26a_web-3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519202973743540562" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TJgl_XTIwTI/AAAAAAAAA5k/evCr4r_IJaA/s1600/c%26a_web-4.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TJgl_XTIwTI/AAAAAAAAA5k/evCr4r_IJaA/s400/c%26a_web-4.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519203113858810162" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TJgmGzueb3I/AAAAAAAAA5s/5sLehar4Akk/s1600/c%26a_web-5.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TJgmGzueb3I/AAAAAAAAA5s/5sLehar4Akk/s400/c%26a_web-5.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519203241748754290" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TJgmOBMt2PI/AAAAAAAAA50/ZYq0F6PYeUs/s1600/c%26a_web-6.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 178px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TJgmOBMt2PI/AAAAAAAAA50/ZYq0F6PYeUs/s400/c%26a_web-6.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519203365624338674" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TJgmWFG1HeI/AAAAAAAAA58/nU5KSE25oLY/s1600/c%26a_web-7.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TJgmWFG1HeI/AAAAAAAAA58/nU5KSE25oLY/s400/c%26a_web-7.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519203504112344546" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TJgmc7FRO6I/AAAAAAAAA6E/XHWkkW1eA9M/s1600/c%26a_web-8.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 270px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TJgmc7FRO6I/AAAAAAAAA6E/XHWkkW1eA9M/s400/c%26a_web-8.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519203621680528290" border="0" /></a>mmMikeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05699054572617167280noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8265963619795758934.post-13245492074958919442010-08-31T19:18:00.000-07:002010-08-31T19:39:54.436-07:00Family FunThis past weekend I had a chance to shoot my Aunt and Uncle up in DePere, WI along with my two cousins. It was mid-day in the harsh sunlight but we were able to find some shady spots in the park. We always have a blast together so this was fun and a new experience for me shooting a family. I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did! I love you guys! Myself and Mike took part in their wedding in more ways than one. Not only did we both stand up in their wedding party, we were able to use our artistic talents to help make their wedding day extremely special. Mike used his genius computer software knowledge to create the wedding slide show for the happy couple. I designed the wedding programs for the ceremony and also designed wedding menus which also acted as name cards for each of the guests. We were pleased with the gracious feedback from everyone there! The original plan was to canoe the Wisconsin River all day Saturday, camp on a sandbar overnight and then canoe some more Sunday morning. That did not work out due to the heavy rain and the massive amount of water pouring through the dam. Oh well - plan B... instead we camped at a VFW campground and did a day trip only. I enjoyed myself but I have to admit that I was a bit on edge having my camera in a canoe... that could tip over at any time... which actually happened to others in our group. Reaching out of your canoe for a beer that is floating down stream is never a smart idea. Anyhow - the following are a few shots that I liked from the trip.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/THR2RZ98HdI/AAAAAAAAAxk/LF46tntq7AQ/s1600/edited-1+copy.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 274px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/THR2RZ98HdI/AAAAAAAAAxk/LF46tntq7AQ/s400/edited-1+copy.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509158285581491666" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/THR2ZRfGnwI/AAAAAAAAAxs/vchtF5TSlkA/s1600/edited-2+copy.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 252px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/THR2ZRfGnwI/AAAAAAAAAxs/vchtF5TSlkA/s400/edited-2+copy.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509158420743626498" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/THR2gkqULgI/AAAAAAAAAx0/dEMh3pdyKLE/s1600/edited-3+copy.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/THR2gkqULgI/AAAAAAAAAx0/dEMh3pdyKLE/s400/edited-3+copy.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509158546150010370" border="0" /></a>mmMikeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05699054572617167280noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8265963619795758934.post-75950299485922034642010-08-09T18:16:00.000-07:002010-08-09T19:13:00.330-07:00Wedding Stationary<span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51);"><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-family:verdana;">I really enjoy creating stationary for weddings, invitations, birth announcements, etc. One of my best friends whom I have known since second grade was married in May and I designed the wedding programs for the ceremony. It's a week long camp that brings in children from the foster care system. I was the camp photographer for the first 2 days of camp and had a blast (I had to scoot out early due to summer classes). The camp is set-up with all sorts of activities to keep the kids busy. There was a swimming pool, an arts & crafts tent, a woodworking station and other random activities set-up differently each day. On the second day I was there they brought in Alex and Swee'Pea from <a href="http://www.tops-k9.com/">Tops Kennels</a> for a pretty slick demonstration. If my memory serves me correctly, Sweet'Pea holds 13 Guinness World Records and can balance a glass of water on her head, blindfolded while walking backwards down a stairway. Crazy! Banksy and I have a lot of work to do. Anyhow, it was great to hang out with these kids for a couple of days and they taught me more than I could ever teach them. They've experienced a lot in their short time here and to be able to capture their positive memories for them was an honor. See some shots below... I should also state, again, that these kids are in the foster care system so I am not allowed to show certain faces due to privacy rights. The kids pictured below are either old enough now or out of the system.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TFhcU02V9jI/AAAAAAAAAv4/dXBtTYv8AFo/s1600/DSC_0011.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TFhcU02V9jI/AAAAAAAAAv4/dXBtTYv8AFo/s400/DSC_0011.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5501248457686775346" border="0" /></a>The gigantic skillet used to make Pancakes<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TFhcgN8cZOI/AAAAAAAAAwA/b18Or6fDEBM/s1600/DSC_0204.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 307px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TFhcgN8cZOI/AAAAAAAAAwA/b18Or6fDEBM/s400/DSC_0204.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5501248653401810146" border="0" /></a>Getting thrown in the pool! Our assignment was to submit a t-shirt design. Once submitted, others vote on your design and if you get a high enough rating, your t-shirt will get printed and sold on their site. Unfortunately, my t-shirt was never printed. Just recently, I decided to submit another design. This time the requirements asked to design a pair of flip flops to match the shirt. This design was never printed either, but it was fun to design something out of the ordinary! Grape-tastic:)<br /></span></span><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2cys4oEPUJtiUwz2nsz7MODv39mrTRN1a_AQk1yKngqbnZEzbFpJ55ZdOUEGmwEzZ8gTbTHR6MM-kyP3GmvjjQ0LcomiMpqvKx0J7XHl2WbqMbEx_7jNOPl67OtEbXZOtClkSttWcl8M/s1600/Submission_white_grapes.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 258px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2cys4oEPUJtiUwz2nsz7MODv39mrTRN1a_AQk1yKngqbnZEzbFpJ55ZdOUEGmwEzZ8gTbTHR6MM-kyP3GmvjjQ0LcomiMpqvKx0J7XHl2WbqMbEx_7jNOPl67OtEbXZOtClkSttWcl8M/s320/Submission_white_grapes.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5499716043599765826" border="0" /></a>Jessicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05443675806248081430noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8265963619795758934.post-1892395914587171122010-07-30T06:21:00.000-07:002010-07-30T06:43:53.759-07:00Sleeping DogThe other night I decided to experiment a bit with my lighting gear. I needed a model, and since Jessica was busy our sleepy Golden Retriever, Banksy, happily obliged. (if you don't know Banksy, see the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banksy">omniscient wiki</a>) Anyhow, I have my speedlight above him with a 60" umbrella in our tiny living room trying to maneuver around while he sleeps. It was almost as if he'd done this before... I'd snap a shot and he would stretch and re-position - great. Snap another and he'd move his head to another angle - great. He certainly gave me all of this best looks. Either that - or he was extremely annoyed. As I was snapping away he would open his right eye to check on me every now and then. I got my practice in and came out with some keepers. My two favorites are below.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TFLWTpniORI/AAAAAAAAAuI/DD4eEVoUAZE/s1600/banksy1.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TFLWTpniORI/AAAAAAAAAuI/DD4eEVoUAZE/s400/banksy1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5499693728050329874" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TFLWe-PGbKI/AAAAAAAAAuQ/RGZRUWyhsII/s1600/banksy2.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 288px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TFLWe-PGbKI/AAAAAAAAAuQ/RGZRUWyhsII/s400/banksy2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5499693922563550370" border="0" /></a>mmMikeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05699054572617167280noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8265963619795758934.post-41826139094483881212010-07-27T09:58:00.000-07:002010-07-27T11:57:28.035-07:00Chris & Amanda Engagement ShootA bit of background - I've been shooting on and off for about 3 years now. I've taken some travel shots and plenty of landscape. I've never done portraits or people outside the lovely Jessica =) I know Chris from my day job and he knew that I dabbled in photography - so he asked if I would be interested in shooting an engagement session. Of course I said yes and I finally got a chance to go out on a real shoot with a great couple. We went out in Waukesha last Sunday and had a blast. I'm learning a lot about post processing now but I have three that I'll share in the meantime.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TE8fqY7luzI/AAAAAAAAAtg/59QGXhlvS50/s1600/c%26a01small.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3CgMP062ME/TE8fqY7luzI/AAAAAAAAAtg/59QGXhlvS50/s400/c%26a01small.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5498648483150019378" border="0" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;">This photo was taken at about 4:00 in the afternoon with the harsh sun shining bright.
