Back in June I had an opportunity to volunteer at a summer camp for kids. It's a week long camp that brings in children from the foster care system. I was the camp photographer for the first 2 days of camp and had a blast (I had to scoot out early due to summer classes). The camp is set-up with all sorts of activities to keep the kids busy. There was a swimming pool, an arts & crafts tent, a woodworking station and other random activities set-up differently each day. On the second day I was there they brought in Alex and Swee'Pea from Tops Kennels for a pretty slick demonstration. If my memory serves me correctly, Sweet'Pea holds 13 Guinness World Records and can balance a glass of water on her head, blindfolded while walking backwards down a stairway. Crazy! Banksy and I have a lot of work to do. Anyhow, it was great to hang out with these kids for a couple of days and they taught me more than I could ever teach them. They've experienced a lot in their short time here and to be able to capture their positive memories for them was an honor. See some shots below... I should also state, again, that these kids are in the foster care system so I am not allowed to show certain faces due to privacy rights. The kids pictured below are either old enough now or out of the system.
